Our adventures began a little out of nowhere.
After a tough few months at work in the late summer/early fall of 2019, I was able to have a couple of bonus days off, so we took off to Arizona on a whim.
We flew in, rented a convertible, and ventured out on a mini road trip around the state. We hit the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon (detoured a little into Utah), and the Hoover Dam all within a long weekend. We were hooked. Our previous trips had all been the same thing: laying around in a hotel until it was time to go lay around on a beach. Don’t get me wrong, we like the beach….it’s just what we did every vacation.
In late summer 2020, we decided to rent an RV and headed out on an 11-day camping trip to Copper Harbor, Michigan. We only planned out the first few campground stops because it was Labor Day weekend for fear of everything being booked up, but after the first few nights, we landed wherever our trip led us. I will probably make a bigger post later about this trip since there was so much to it.
After our big rental RV adventure, we decided to begin searching for a home away from home of our own. We spent some time searching for the perfect camper for our family and, after months of research, purchased our 2021 Grand Design Transcend XPlor 261bh. We love it so much that we wish we could do this 5 days a week and work 2 days a week…
